About

TriforceDad1984 is “The Coolest Dad on Twitch.” Call me TFD for short.

In April 2020, at the beginning of the COVID-19 global pandemic, I began streaming for two reasons. I wanted to connect with others safely amidst state- and nationwide lockdown procedures, and I aimed to prove a point to my employers that our esports team was on the wrong social media platform. I steadily amassed a following of both new and old friends on Twitch who are now the heart of the Triforce Family.

I became a Twitch affiliate in July 2020, and I regularly enjoy sharing my artwork and semi-decent gameplay with viewers across the globe.

Why TriforceDad?

Great question, you!

“The Legend of Zelda” series of games has a special place in my heart. “Ocarina of Time” was released in November 1998, less than two years after I lost my dad to a fatal heart attack. It was the first Zelda title that I truly dove into, and the journey of Young Link into an adult – albeit sort of against his will – inspired me in one of the darkest times of my life. Link’s unshakeable courage served as an inspiration, and it continues to do so today.

Today, I wear my hearts on my sleeve – literally. My life bar tattoo includes initials for my closest family members. I try to live by the principles of courage, wisdom, and power, making sure that the last one listed doesn’t corrupt me.

Who are you, really?

Off stream, I’ve been working in the communications field for almost 20 years. I was a graphic designer and video producer for a college in northeastern Pennsylvania for about nine years, and before that I worked as an award-winning local newspaper reporter and editor for nearly a decade before that. I’d love to work at Nintendo one day.

I met the love of my life as an art student in 2002, and our first child was born in 2003. Things moved pretty fast. We got married in August 2008, and our second child was born in 2009. My life is much richer thanks to her and the kiddos.

I love the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially Iron Man and Spider-Man. Loyalty and friendship are very important to me. According to an enneagram test I took for work, I’m a giver, which checks out. I’m a Leo and a born leader on any team. I know when to share the spotlight, but I also know when it belongs to me. I’m a natural showman, and I sometimes don’t know when to shut up, which is becoming more apparent as I write this biography.
